Battle Overview

The turn-based on battles consist of 3 phases: Hero's turn, pets' turn and the enemies' turn.

Hero’s Turn

During this turn, you can choose your move with no time pressure. For offensive moves, you will be able to attempt to boost the damage of the attack.

Each skill is different, but there are 3 main categories for the boost styles:

  • Tapping or clicking with the mouse at the correct time. Example: In the normal attack, a marker will automatically move from left to right. Tapping/clicking the screen when the marker is on the green area will result in regular damage. The yellow area grants the attack slightly more power, but the highest damage is dealt when you are able to hit the green zone.

  • Holding a mouse button or finger down to increase a bar, and letting go at the correct moment. Example: Charge Beam skill deals more damage the closer to the right edge of the bar you will be able to stop the marker. The marker accelerates to the right when you hold down the mouse button / finger and stops when you let go.

  • Holding a mouse button or finger down multiple times in a row. Example: Guinea Pig Rush deals the most damage if you are able to have the marker in the green area when a timer runs out. Holding down the mouse button or finger will accelerate the marker to the right, whereas letting go will make it move steadily to the left. With this ability, finding the right holding technique is the key to a successful boost.

Pets’ turn

You can bring 3 pets with you to aid you in battle. Each pet will perform their move automatically based on their own nature, whether it means healing you, attacking the enemy, or something else. The pet turn will always take place after the hero’s turn.

Enemies’ turn

After the pet turn, the enemies will attack in a random (or sometimes fixed) order. During the enemy turn, you can jump with a left mouse button click or a screen tap (on touch devices). A properly-timed jump will allow you to avoid the enemy attacks and damage they would deal. In theory, a skilled player could dodge every single attack and never take any damage. However, in practice, this is not an easy feat to accomplish.

Note that during some missions, the battle may begin with the enemy turn, giving them an advantage over you.
